As violence closes in, an unexpected bond forms between strangers forced into hiding, revealing how hope can persist even in the most unforgiving circumstances.
Developed as a European co-production, Hope expands the world of the short film AMELIE into a feature-length work, maintaining an intimate focus on character and emotional truth rather than spectacle. The film approaches war not as strategy or heroism, but as lived experience, quiet, fractured and deeply personal.

Shot across France and the UK, and created alongside the short film AMELIE, this companion piece explores the human cost of the 1944 Battle of Caen. Through moving interviews with centenarian Royal Marines, a survivor of the Caen massacre, and modern-day military voices, the documentary asks: what do we remember, and why does it still matter?
With full access to Normandy locations, veteran archives, and the voices of those who were there, CAEN 1944: The Forgotten Battle, is a timely, visually grounded reflection on silence, survival, and the emotional aftershocks of war.
